Create Your Second Life The Way You Want

September 2, 2009

I have been doing some reading about Mid-life Crisis and what they really are. I’m finding the information fascinating to say the least. I am a woman who is in her mid-life…now… and I have to say that I’m having a ball so far. No…Really…I am!

So here’s my 2 cents on creating the second life the way you want.

Now that I’m in my Mid-life I (I’m)…
1. Not concerned about what the “They’s” say, as in what will THEY think
2. Dress the way that I want to…not because a fashion magazine told me to do so
3. Believe in myself more
4. Believe in my skills and talents
5. Fully believe that I DO have all my answers within me
6. Choose not to wear high heels
7. Say what I really think more
8. Speak from the heart more often
9. Believe I can make a difference in the world
10. Choose friends who add to my life
11. Drop acquaintances that DRAG me down
12. Creating a wider circle of unique friends of various ages
13. Re-Designing how I spend my time and energy
14. Organizing my life…starting with WHO I REALLY AM
15. Being Authentic
16. Letting go of old and outdated labels that no longer fit

What life do you want?

Have you started your Re-Design life yet?

Until next time… Make each day count!

5 Ideas on Creating the Life You Want

June 24, 2009

I have just had the most interesting conversation with a great friend of mine. We haven’t been in touch for a number of years… but you wouldn’t know it by listening to us. We just picked up where we left off & filled each other in on what we were up to. The really interesting part was that we have similar goals in creating the life we really want to live.

This got me thinking.
So….here’s my 2 cents on what sparked my ideas on creating the life I want.

1. Experience Life Fully

Sounds simple doesn’t it… To truly experience life fully you must risk appearing the fool and do what others are not. (When you hear “she’s nuts for doing that”… {Keep doing THAT}) Try out new things to discover more about Yourself, what you like, what you don’t like & what gets you up in the morning.

2. Engage in Life Fully

Make it a point to smile at perfect strangers… why not make their day brighter & friendlier. Even a simple “Hello” to someone has meaning. You never know what the impact of your kind words can have on someone. Engage in humanity one person at a time.

3. Dare to Dream

Dreams are creative tools given to us to help propel ourselves into roles we didn’t know we wanted to take on. Dreams are the starting point to create an outline of what you want in life. Dreams can grow bigger when nurtured and developed by acknowledging them. Keep on dreaming!

4. Actions to Backup Dreams

Taking action on your dreams is the “Magic” that make it become a reality. Life requires action from you to create and sustain your dreams. Without actions the dream cannot come into reality. You must DO something… anything that can bring this dream to life. (Baby steps are all that is needed)

5. Go With The Flow
(Thanks Evan for this saying)

Staying in action can require times of inaction. Huh?… Yes, that’s right, sometimes the timing is not quite right or the original action plan has fallen through. This is the time to STOP and get clear to what you really want. When you have a clear direction once again, go forwards with the new action plan and keep working toward your dreams.

What dreams have you put off?

Have you created your action plan yet?

Until next time… Make each day count!

Be dreaming,

Nicole

Living & Learning – Part 2

May 27, 2009

Living & Learning – Part 2

I’ve been thinking about some of the important lessons I’ve learned along the way & how these lessons have impacted my life.
The greatest lessons I’ve learned have been from the most difficult & trying times of my life.
These were the times where I felt frustrated, awkward, lonely & scared as hell.

I persisted THROUGH these feelings and THROUGH the self doubt & just kept on taking life one step at a time. Looking back now at what seemed to be a road block in my path… was really a GIFT that I needed to allow into my life.

So … Here’s my 2 cents on Living & Learning part 2.
1. Be curious!
2. Be yourself!
3. Eat chocolate often
4. Get outdoors every day!
5. Be persistent (Not a pest)
6. Be anything BUT “normal”
7. Become the person that everyone says “wow, she really did it!”
8. Make getting up early an everyday habit
9. Walk 20 – 40 minutes every day (we humans were meant to move our bodies)
10. Offer to hold the door open for someone just because
11. Find a theme song for your life & sing & listen to this song often
12. Avoid constantly negative people (They’re just a DRAG)
13. Watch a sunrise & become inspired to just be
14. Watch a sunset & become inspired to live in peace
15. Seek out mentors for yourself to keep growing and learning
16. Learn to see the beautiful lessons in the mistakes you’ve made
17. Write down the lessons you’ve learned from these mistakes
18. Give someone your undivided attention for a change
19. Become a behavior observer expert; What a person does is WAY more telling than what they say
20. Your actions are the words your body lives up to
21. Make promises and keep them
22. Surprise others with your impeccable word; do what you said you would do
23. Value YOUR time
24. Set boundaries for your SELF
25. Your dreams are your soul’s gifts to the world; guard them & tell only who will support them!
