Releasing & Accepting

September 24, 2009

This week has been a very centering week for me. I’ve had the opportunity to sit and be still and listen to the quiet moments of my breathing…my inner voice… and just taking in information that is coming from various forms. This week has been about releasing what is not working in my life to make room for what is working and what I intend on creating for my future. I have had to release a few people from my life that just didn’t align with my intentions or goals. This release was done in private, quietness and done with love….I felt no anger, hurt or resentment when I was ready to completely release these individuals.
This week I am posting a poem that sums up the releasing and accepting that has been happening in my life.

So… here’s my 2 cents on the poem Reason, Season & Lifetime (Author Unknown)

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, or to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or even spiritually. They may seem like a godsend to you, and they are. They are there for a reason, you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die, Sometimes they just walk away. Sometimes they act up or out an force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.
When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But only for a Season. And like Spring turns to Summer and Summer to Fall, the Season eventually ends.

LIFETIME, relationships teach you a lifetime of lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway); and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas in your life.

What season are you in now?

Have you accepted people who have moved on or out of your life?

Until next time… Make each day count!

Be Accepting,
Nicole

15 things I like doing when it’s raining

July 9, 2009

This week has been filled with lots of rain here in Edmonton, Alberta. A Lot of conversation around me on this subject, some good, some bad & some just indifferent. I don’t mind the rain myself and enjoy seeing all the trees & grass getting greener.
I created this list to highlight what I like about the rain.

So….here’s my 2 cents on ways to accept the rain

1. Read a good book your were putting off
2. Listen to the sounds of the gentle rain outside(or not so gentle)
3. The refreshing smell of the air being scrubbed clean… Ummm!
4. Hopping around the puddles
5. Jumping IN the puddles
6. Making paper boats to float down the streets to the sewer (any one still know how to make?)
7. Gave up making the paper boats and just used crumpled paper to float down streets
8. Toothpick races also fun to down the streets
9. Watching the birds come to feed on the bugs & worms
10. Seeing the vibrant green in all of nature pop out
11. Singing in the rain(just like Gene Kelly)
12. Going for a nice long , slow walk
13. Umbrella, rubber shoes, rain coat and covered head
14. Enjoying a nap on a sleep rainy day
15. Knowing the rain will come out once again soon

What rainy day activities do you enjoy?

Have you started a list of how to accept the rain yet?

Until next time… Make each day count!

Be grateful,
Nicole
